Jersey Beef

First things first thank you so much for ordering a Jersey Beef Box off us! You are supporting a small, family run business in Co. Longford and we are delighted to be able to share the product of our hard work with you.

Watch the whole process from Farm to Fork….

These pedigree Jersey bull calves arrived with us in 2021. We reared them on quality milk replacer and calf crunch before they went off for the first of their summers outdoors at grass. Rotating throughout the summer so they always have the best grass ahead of them for eating.

Coming inside then for the winter for a bit of warmth on a diet of homegrown silage and oats. Their final summer outside was spent on our best quality grass here at home around the farm.

They came into the shed for finishing along with their comrades the winter of 2022. Since then they were fed a 100% homegrown finishing diet of silage, wholecrop, maize, barley, oats, beans and beet. So not only is your food locally produced but so is theirs!

How’s that for low food miles and sustainability?!?!

We’d love to hear back from you about your jersey beef box so please get in touch, tag us in your posts and let us know what you think!!

Why is the fat yellow?

The yellow fat in Jersey beef is a result of higher levels of carotene (an important anti-oxidant) & vitamin D which naturally occur more in Channel Island breeds.

This can increase further when animals enjoy a pasture-fed diet.

So try the superior flavor for yourself!
